Short Courses in Acting
The School of Professional and Community Development (SPCD) offers a range of Short Courses.

Tutors are all industry professionals - actors, directors or trainers - with experience of drama school training and are externally monitored to ensure excellent standards.

New students are enrolled at the beginning of each academic term and the courses can be taken independently or cumulatively to form a unified programme of practical study.

Group sizes are generally small, so that tutors are able to nurture and develop creativity.

Courses offered are:

- Acting - An Introduction
- Acting - Text 1
- Acting - Text 2
- Acting - Shakespeare
- Voice for Performance - An Introduction
- Singing
- Audition Techniques
- Course for the more Experienced Actor - Directing

All courses take place on Monday and Wednesday (except Singing which is on Monday only).

All classes run from 7.00pm - 9.30pm. All courses have an intensive day on a Saturday in the sixth week of term from 1.00pm - 6.00pm (except Singing).

Term dates:

Autumn Term: 5 October - 25 November 2009 (Intensive: Saturday 14 November)
Spring Term: 11 January 2010 - 3 March 2010 (Intensive: Saturday 20 February)
Summer Term: 26 April 2010 - 23 June 2010 (Intensive: Saturday 5 June)
(3 May and 24 May 2010 are Bank Holidays)

Minimum age: Applicants to all courses (except Youth Theatre) is 18 years
Cost: Singing: 190 per term. All other Short Courses: 425/325 concessions per term
