Wireless microphones soon a thing of the past?

Manufacturers and users of wireless microphones have been worried for some time now that they will soon have to do without wireless microphones. On the basis of new laws, certain radio frequencies are to be offered for sale, which brings to mind memories of the UMTS (G3 mobile network) auction. In this case, the frequencies used by manufacturers and event organisers will no longer be available. Imagine, all the performers being once again limited in the scope of their activities and only able to sing into a microphone with a long cable.

To exert an influence in the political sphere, manufacturers and users of wireless transmission technology have founded the Association of Professional Wireless Production Technologies (APWPT). Wireless technology is not only used for microphones. The event sector uses this technology for a variety of applications at concerts, conferences, sports events, etc. Microphones, in-ear monitoring, audio and video transmissions, data lines and wireless control technology are only a few of the applications that depend on the radio frequencies available.

The changes in the allocation of radio frequencies will also be a subject of importance at Prolight + Sound. The latest information about the subject, as well as the latest technologies and products, will be presented at the fair.
